DETAILED STEPS

1. If your Aruba IAP-305 or IAP-315 Instant Access Point (IAP) is an used unit, please factory reset it. To factory reset the IAP, please take a paper clip and poke it into the RESET hole on the base of the IAP while the power is on. Hold the paper clip down for 30 seconds. You should see the LED on the IAP turning red. The IAP is resetting to factory defaults.


2. If your Aruba IAP-305 or IAP-315 IAP is a new unit, connect one end of the AC adapter to the unit and the other end to the wall socket.


3. If you have a Power over Ethernet (POE) switch, then the AC adapter is not necessary. Connect one end of the LAN cable to the IAP and the other end to the switch.


4. Aruba IAP should automatically obtain an IP address from the DHCP server on the network.


5. Login to the web interface of Aruba 7010 wireless controller.


6. Click Configuration > Wizards > AP.


7. Under Tab 1 Deployment Scenario, choose Deployment scenario: LAN.


8. Click Next.


9. Under Tab 2 AP to Configure, click "All APs".


10. Click/select the row with the MAC address of your Aruba IAP. 


11. Click Next.


12. Under Tab 3 Controller, click Automatic.


13. Click Next.


14. Under Tab 4 AP Settings, click the MAC address of your Aruba IAP. You will be able to change the name of the IAP, for example, Teo-En-Ming-AP0001.


15. Continue clicking Next.


16. Click Configure APs Now.


17. Click the Close button.


18. Click Configuration > Wireless > AP Configuration.


19. Click the AP Specific tab.


20. Under Enter AP Name, choose the name of your Aruba IAP.


21. Click Add.


22. Click the name of your Aruba IAP under the AP Specific tab.


23. Click Wireless LAN > Virtual AP.


24. On the right hand pane, under Add a profile, choose your desired profile and click Add.


25. Continue adding your desired profiles.


26. Click Apply.


27. To see if your Aruba IAP is up, click Monitoring > Controller > Access Points. Your Aruba IAP should be listed.


28. You can install Matt Hafner's Wifi Analyzer on your Windows 10 laptop to check if your laptop associates with your Aruba IAP using its MAC address.


29. Optionally, you can run an internet speed test at speedtest.net to check the download and upload speeds of your Aruba IAP.


30. To see the wireless clients connected to your Aruba IAP, click Monitoring > Controller > Clients.


31. For the Search criteria, enter the name of your Aruba IAP in the AP Name box. 


32. Click Search.


33. You should see the list of wireless clients connected to your Aruba IAP.


34. Optionally, if you want to force 5 GHz frequency band only, Click Configuration > Wireless > AP Configuration. Under AP Specific tab, click the name of your Aruba IAP.


35. Click Wireless LAN > Virtual AP.


36. Click the desired profile.


37. On the right hand pane, under Basic tab, under RF, choose Allowed band: All, click Band Steering, under Steering Mode, choose force-5ghz.


38. Optionally, you can also run OKLA Speedtest on your Android or IOS smartphones.


39. That's all.
