Four Singapore Police Force Police Force (SPF) officers were caught on video seemingly ganging up on an elderly lady for taking her mask off in public.
The footage was originally uploaded without an audio by Instagram user @nichology via a series of stories on the platform detailing the alleged incident which took place last Monday (17 May).
Under the captions of the stories, he called out the SPF officers for picking on the elderly lady, who apparently "collects cardboard for a living".
"Seriously sometimes I don't understand what kind of people we hire as public servants," he wrote.
"Poor auntie already put back on her mask but they continued to tell her off to the extent someone had to come and salvage the situation."

However, the SPF in a statement last Wednesday (19 May) said that the allegations made in the video and Instagram stories are false. It clarified that its officers had responded to the incident as a 85-year-old woman, who did not have a mask on, appeared to be lost at the location.
It continued, "Police officers had attended to the elderly woman to help her find her way home. With the help of a member of the public, it was subsequently established that the elderly woman, believed to have dementia, resided in a nearby block, and her domestic helper was contacted to bring her home.
"As the incident took place during dinner time, our officers were concerned that the elderly woman might be hungry and bought food for her as well.
No further police assistance was required after the elderly woman was handed over to her domestic helper safely."
It went on to commend two other members of the public who had stepped forward to help the elderly woman.
SPF also advised members of the public not to participate in the spreading of unverified information or make their own conjectures on an incident, and to be responsible when posting or sharing any information online.
"The Police take a serious view of such malicious allegations. The authorities are looking into the circulation of the falsehood," it concluded.

Following this, TOC on Friday night (21 May) was issued a Correction Notice on the social media posts related to the sharing of the said video.
The notice specifically states that the Police "did not reprimand or taunt the elderly woman" as shown in the video.
Interestingly, the video tells a different story now that we have managed to get hold of the version with live audio.
And the elderly woman whom we managed to catch up at the same location, tell a different story.
The elderly lady who said her Chinese zodiac is dog, and therefore is aged 87 this year.
She knows exactly where she stays and frequently sits at the spot as shown in the video on 17 May.
She claims that she was chased away from her spot on Monday by the police officers and that she was not given food by the police officers as claimed in the police statement on 19 May.
