#Update of Vincent's crowdfunding, situation & status update.

Vincent currently is employed full time as a security, he works permanent night shift from 7.30pm to 7.30am, 6 days a week, 12 hours per shift, total of 72 hours a week, 288 hours a month.

His basic pay rate before CPF is $1,440, his take home pay based on this sum is estimated to be $1,152 based on 42 hours to 44 hours work week.

As Vincent works 72 hours per week, his estimated take him pay before CPF maximum capped at $2800 and his take home pay after CPF is $2,240.

His monthly estimated current expenses as follow:

Room rental: $750

Transport: $300

*He takes public transport of buses and MRTs, their fares are increasing and he is affected by this increase as are majority Singaporeans.

He gives his mother $200 per month in cash for off the counter medicines such as medicated oils for body & leg aches and pains & dry skin issues & spends $300 per month for her food & living expenses.

His own food expenses: $300 per month

Mobile expenses: $40 per month

Total expenses for himself and his Mother for living expenses $1890/-

$2,240 - $1,890 = $350

This doesn't leave him with much breathing space to manuvoure, socially, financially or economically

This is not a substantial amount, in case of an emergency of a medical issue for his mother.

*Also to note that his food expenditure for breakfast, lunch and dinner for both himself and his mother is $10 per day, per person.

*They sometimes resort to eating 1 or 2 meals a day to save and spare some money.

*They do not cook but are in a situation where they buy their meals as the conditions of their rental room is as such where they can't cook.

*He does not qualify for HDB rental flat as his income is above the $1,500 threshold cap.

I was doing financial counselling together with Leong Sze Hian , for a 43 year single Singaporean male, (who has served Singapore by completing 2 years national service followed by 10 years of reservist) he has only $2 in his pocket, which is all the assets that he has now.

He is staying with his 74 year old mother, a retired factory worker, in a rented room ($750 rental monthly) in a 4-room HDB flat.

As he has just started work 4 days ago as a security guard, he has to wait until 7 Feb to get his first pay.

He was an assistant store manager who was retrenched in 2016, when his employer, an Australian company, closed their Singapore business. He became a food delivery rider, flyer distributor, part-time retail assistant, etc, over the last 4 years or so

We accompanied him to a moneylender in Chinatown, and in the process of assessing how much he can borrow - the computer system flagged him as being listed as "cannot borrow money", by a VWO that was helping him - a condition for helping him was that he had to agree to being so "flagged"

So, he called the VWO to request that his name be removed. The answer was that he has to pay $50 and sign a form, in order to be removed

Since he does not even have $50 now, he is stuck in limbo!

Story to be continued as he shall be seeking assistance from other sources.

In the meantime I am appealing to my readers to help him by contributing any amount you can spare,

I have already Kickstarted this initiative by giving him the first dollar.

Kindly and generously paynow to 84088016, Vincent Neo (NEO YEOW LOONG) 🙏
