Panasonic FZ1000 Mark 2 is a great camera for impoverished Singaporeans living in poverty

The Panasonic FZ1000 Mark 2 is a great camera for impoverished Singaporeans living in poverty. You may want to consider this bridge camera if you simply can't afford to buy premium DSLR or mirrorless interchangeable lens camera with superior lenses costing more than SGD$15,000.

I was only able to buy this Panasonic FZ1000 Mark 2 bridge camera with accessories at SGD$1118 on 3 Nov 2019 Sunday AFTER selling off my old Sony A6300 interchangeable lens camera system for SGD$990 after using it for about 3 years and 5 months.

With the Panasonic FZ1000 Mark 2 bridge camera, you can take reasonably good photos, Full HD and 4K videos even if you live in poverty in Singapore like me. As I have mentioned just now, this Panasonic FZ1000 Mark 2 bridge camera costs about SGD$1000 without accessories.

Let me tell you why you don't need to spend more than SGD$15,000 on an expensive high grade premium camera.

[1] It has a much larger image sensor compared to most compact point and shoot (cheap) cameras. While most compact cameras have 1/2.3 inch image sensors, this bridge camera has an 1.0-inch image sensor. Although the image sensor is still smaller than micro four-thirds (MFT) and APS-C image sensors, it still boasts reasonably good quality photos and videos. You can expect better photos and videos with this bridge camera compared to most compact cameras in low light environments.

[2] It has a focal length of 25 mm to 400 mm. With this focal range, you can take both close-up and distant photos and videos. This Panasonic FZ1000 Mark 2 bridge camera has a FIXED lens, meaning you can't change the lens. This may not be a disadvantage because you don't have to spend a lot of money and bring many camera lens and change lens frequently or all the time in the case of interchangeable lens camera.

[3] It features good quality Leica camera lens with an aperture of F2.8 to F4.

[4] It has a hot shoe for mounting external flash guns. An external flash gun is required if you want to take photos in dark or very low light environments, especially at night.

[5] It has a continuous shooting (burst) rate of 7 fps (7 photos per second).

As you can see in so many of my previous blog posts featuring YouTube videos, this Panasonic FZ1000 Mark 2 bridge camera is able to take reasonably good quality photos and videos. There is far less auto focusing (AF) issues if you take Full HD 1920x1080 videos compared to 4K UHD 3840x2160 videos. This is probably because the image processor (all modern digital cameras have an embedded computer chip) may not be able to handle the much higher data rates of 4K UHD videos. Unlike the Sony A6300 camera, this Panasonic FZ1000 Mark 2 bridge camera doesn't overheat and shutdown in outdoor environments when you take 4K UHD videos. If you do not want your Sony A6300 camera to overheat and shutdown when you are taking 4K videos, please find an air-conditioned environment at 25 degrees Celcius. The Sony A6300 camera overheats and shuts down when you take 4K videos because it is processing a lot of data using XAVC S 4K video codec that gives you a lot more details at 4K compared to the Panasonic FZ1000 Mark 2.
