Our MSM Burying Its Head In The Sand! 

On Easter Sunday, one of the most significant events in our history happened when over 2000 common man and women fully paid for the libel damages which a Court had awarded Lee Hsien Loong in his suit against Leong Sze Hian. 

It was the 1st time that a citizen’s liability to a PAP politician for defamation had been completely absorbed by his fellow men. It demonstrated the people’s anger and revulsion at the injustice suffered by Sze Hian. 

For 2 days, social media was abuzz with the news and it was reported all over the World by news agencies such as Bloomberg, Reuters, AFP, South China Morning Post and even the Indian Press. 

But in Singapore, the MSM, was completely silent on this historic news. 

Is it any wonder that our MSM is ranked 158th in the world for media independence? Is it any wonder that in recent years its profits from news distribution have been declining year after year? 

Why would any person in his right mind want to subscribe to a newspaper that is openly bias and only a mouthpiece for the government and the establishment? A newspaper that is unwilling to report on news that is unfavourable and which it fears may offend the powerful? 

I hope all of you who is reading this will have a serious ponder about the society you would want your next generation to live in. Is it a society where they can have liberal access to the truth and can make informed decisions of their own, or a society where their thoughts are being controlled by a bias media wanting to mould them into the conformist citizen, which would delight the establishment? 

I hope you will agree with me that to be an innovative and creative society, which we must be in order to prosper in this knowledge era, we cannot continue on this path of having a bias mainstream media which will lead to the closing of the Singapore mind. 

Our people’s talent must not be dulled by the closing of the Singapore mind! If that were to happen, the TOP jobs would continue to go to foreigners and that will only delight those who claim that Singaporeans are not sufficiently talented to take up those jobs. 

I therefore urge you to immediately stop subscribing to the bias MSM so that you can give your next generation a brighter future!
